My name is Vicki Goss and I attend Celebration Christian Center in Livermore, CA. During 2006 I developed breast cancer; had a mastectomy and received subsequent chemotherapy treatment. When I would go to treatment, as you spend several hours there, I would take a tote bag full of reading materials, devotionals, CD player, kleenex, water and the like.

Last year after a breast cancer awareness "A Night of Hope" at my church, a dear friend told me of a little bag she packed for someone she had never met. She filled the bag with a devotional, a journal, pen, and many other things both useful and fun. This only to give encouragement and comfort to someone beginning a journey unlike any other she had faced in the past.

Then the Lord placed it on my heart to provide these treatment bags to others who must make the same journey. With the help of several others we have developed an outreach and have given these bags full of goodies to many women, with different types of cancer, in California, Nevada and most recently South Carolina. These bags are lovingly handmade and each one thoughtfully prayed over. They are custom packed; meaning the bags come in several colors and designs filled with both meaningful and fun women things. A great deal of your womanly identity is lost or temporarily on hold during this battle.

It is helpful for us to know a little about the woman so we can pick just the right design and color for her. Things like her favorite color; is she outgoing or the softer type; anything you can share with us is useful. I received information once that a woman loved nature and color. We sent her a bright blue bag with Butterflies all over it; she loved it! After we collect all this info the Care Bag is then filled and sent anonymously with love and prayers. If you ever find need to send a Care bag, please just let me know. There is no charge, but donations of items to go in our bags are always appreciated.

We know what you might be going though might be new and scary to you...but we handle situations very familiar to yours on a day to day basis. We are here to help you through your situation as well :-)
I had my own teen unplanned pregnancy...many years ago. I know how lonely and scary it can be when you don't know what to do.

We have so many mommies who are either pregnant now or new mommies that you could make new friendships with and start enjoying this new adventure of motherhood. I try to offer all the things I wish I had when I was pregnant and felt alone. We are all like family :-)

The Livermore Pregnancy Resource Center (LPRC) is committed to assisting women facing needs due to an unplanned pregnancy. We understand that facing an unplanned pregnancy involves many difficult decisions. Factual information, paired with thoughtful consideration, is necessary in order to make an informed responsible decision. We meet you where you are and we offer information about your options and support services. The LPRC networks with many agencies to provide comprehensive lists of services for housing, medical care, adoption, food, financial aid, and much more.

Ultrasounds to Confirm Pregnancy

When medically advisable, clients may be able to receive a limited ultrasound to confirm how far along they are in the pregnancy and that it is a viable pregnancy.

Parenting Classes

Our Earn While You Learn program provides one on one parenting classes and all you will need to know to have a good start at parenthood ;-)

After Care

We want to be there for you where ever your needs might be. We have, and help get you set up with: mommy groups, support groups, personal mentorship and more.

Pregnant Clients can earn "Mommy Money" for shopping at the LPRA store for their expected babies. The gift cards will be used by the staff of the LPRC to make purchases for the "Mommy Store".

Stay and Play Family Daycare

This wonderful family day care is in a private home where every room is dedicated to the activities of the children who attend. Any activity that one can imagine for day care is carried on by Teresa and Tasha in a very loving manner.

The program is Christ-centered, the children are happy, and parents are happy and supportive. If you live in the Tri Valley area or work in the area (Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin) would be well advised to check it out by making a visit.

Saddles of Joy Therapeutic Horsemanship Program A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Saddles of Joy, Inc. is a therapeutic riding program designed to help special needs individuals physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually through the God-given gift of caring for and riding our horses. The special bond between the horses and our clients can facilitate amazing changes, including increased self-confidence and self-esteem, and even can encourage communication skills where they were previously lacking. The warmth and rhythm of the horse can help the rider with their flexibility, strength, and balance. The care of the horse by the individual can teach responsibility and pride in their accomplishments. These are just a few of the benefits of therapeutic horsemanship.

We are a program that addresses many areas of need for both our clients AND our volunteers, as well as our horse-therapists! We partner with juvenile programs, the legal system, and other organizations. We began holding horseback riding camps for the general public in 2009 to help spread the word about and raise money for our program, and to extend the educational component. We even now have a small library on site with educational materials and movies about horses. We have public rides on-site on Saturdays as well as a petting farm with miniature horses, burros, sheep etc., and we also take these to the public at various city events. There is no other program like ours in the Yuma, Arizona, area and we need your support to continue.

Important points about our program:

It is our desire to educate the community and any interested party about the therapeutic value of the relationship of horse and rider.
We also believe our horses are four-legged therapists, and many of them also have their own special needs or are rescue horses.
We continue on with education in horsemanship and care of horses at the level of the physical ability of all of our riders.
We are a non-profit agency and are supported by United Way.
